Chop Break Duo

Last summer, the newly formed Chop Break Duo of Alex Nagy, piano, and CJ Waldrop, trumpet, presented their first tour of five concerts across Massachusetts, the Carolinas, and Florida. This winter, Chop Break Duo presents a new concert:

Beethoven on the Beach

Join trumpeter CJ Waldrop and pianist Alex Nagy for a collection of some of our favorite music, newly adapted for trumpet and piano. Experience Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 1, performed for perhaps the first time with a brass instrument and piano. Take a journey at sea with our brief, dramatic rendition of the Gilbert and Sullivan opera Pirates of Penzance retold as a duo. Celebrate the holidays with us in our first winter show. This performance is about an hour long and is suitable for all ages. We hope that there is something for everybody to enjoy in our performance of our new December 2025 show, Beethoven on the Beach.
